  • Tommy's (not on Thomas)

Mario and I went to Tommy's Pizza right by our house and had a super yummy meal the other night.  So good, in fact, that I wanted to post some pictures and make you jealous that you weren't there.

That's Mario chowing down on a Muff.  I got a pizza with pesto, artichoke hearts, spinach, onions, garlic, green olives, feta and mozzeralla cheese.  YUM!  My breath was something to behold that night!!

This is a crazy tree near our house that has twisted itself up into a knot.  Those aren't tumors on the side....I'll have to get a better picture - I was driving.  The tree is really twisted around on itself.  Wicked......

  • Death to Jazzland

We had a life-size cut-out of the Jazzland guy at my work, left over from last summer.  I figured it was up for grabs, since Jazzland is long gone, and since this is my last week at this job, I went ahead and took it home Tuesday night.  Well, little did I know, Mario has a deep hatred for this old man.  He almost attacked it as soon as he walked in the door; I had to hold him off until Dan could come over with the guns.  Mario decided he wanted to use a machete, too.  Here are photos illustrating what happened when Dan arrived:

I think Mario and Dan need to get out some aggression.  Anyways....we still don't need cable :)

  • Mudbugs and Beer!

B Camp graduated, so his fabulous family had a crawfish boil in his honor.  He was so kind to invite me, and I passed along the invite to Mario, vicarious crasher that I am.  We were pleasantly surprised to see Chris Owens and Nate Smith, two of our long-lost Scholars' brethren, at the fiesta.  We also got to meet Bryan's girlfriend, ending the speculation as to whether or not she was a full-size inflatable or just a pocket plastic.  She's actually a full-size, living, breathing human who is very lovely.  Well done, B.  Here are some pics from the party:

  • Whatcha gonna do?

We was just sittin' 'round the house having some dinner and wine Friday night when little Bethany started gettin the munchies.

    Friends 056 Friends 053

Well, we offered her some snacks, but she said she was good.  We figured she would be alright, so we kept on having a good time when all of a sudden Bethany up and tried to bite a hunk of Jacob!!!

    Friends 057 Friends 054

Yeah, Matt, that's exactly what we thought!  Those two are SO weird!  Anyways, Jacob took Bethany to Wendy's and got her a potato or something, and all was well.  And then Katie decided to get naked, and all was really well.

    Friends 055

Okay, so she's not really naked, but I was trying to snap some candid photos, and I realized after the fact that this looks a little naughty.  So, of course I post it.  I'm such a good friend :)

    Have a great week!

  • Please take a few seconds and do this quick survey thingy for me!

  • Can I get an AMEN?!?

Whoo-hoo!  Uncle Sam is actually giving me some $$ back this year.  Looks like I'll be able to pay rent this summer after all :)   Happy dance, happy dance!!!!!

You know, giving us an extension until August to do our taxes was nice, because Katrina was a bitch and things are still really, really fucked up here, but telling people in Louisiana that they can have longer to do paperwork and/or pay you is a horrible idea.  Just plain stupid.  It's never gonna get done folks.  People are gonna ask for more extensions come August.  State taxes aren't due until November.  And watch, if another hurricane hits us this summer...that shit's never gonna get done.

I'm only about a month "late" doing my taxes, and why did I wait?  Because I could.  Simply because I could.  Why do we do that?  I have a paper due Monday, and I could have done it today, but I put it off until tomorrow.  Why?  Because I could.  I'm one of the worst procrastinators I know; the only reason I did my taxes tonight was because I need the money for rent.  If not, I probably would have waited until August.  Perhaps......perhaps I shall make a resolution, as part of Mission: Katy Grows Up, to do things as they come along and not squeeze them in just before their deadline.  It sounds so...scary; so.....mature.  I don't know if I can do it.

No, I can do it.  You can do it, too.  Let's do it together.  Let's start a revolution.  Imagine how efficient the world would be if people did things as they landed in their "IN" boxes; if they answered calls as soon as they checked their voicemail.  That world would fucking rock!  I want to live in that world!  I want my package in SIX, not eight weeks.  Are you with me?  HAVE YOU FILED YOUR TAXES YET?

  • Balls and Shaft!

I went with my dad to the Zurich Classic at English Turn this weekend.  It was actually a lot of fun.....OMG Katy's getting into Golf!  But major bummer:  we couldn't bring cameras into the tourny :(   So here's the one picture I took:

The line waiting to get into the parking area.  Oooohhh...can ya stand it?!?  It was VERY NICE to be in an area with NO CELL PHONES (that's mobile phone for you, Kris) for several hours.  A girl could get used to that!

    Here's the guy that won:

I watched them on TV Sunday...my dad worked the 17th hole.  This dude had everyone worried at the end, but he pulled through with an amazing chip shot and avoided a play-off.  I think this was his first PGA win, and he's like, 50+.  Well done, older dude!

But here's why I really went:

David Feherty!  I LURRRVE him!  Like Oprah loves rice cakes!  I didn't get to see him :( but I felt his presence.  One day, my precious David....one day.

  • Hit me with your best shot!

    Friends 052Friends 051

Katie and I went out and shot at some homemade targets while the boys shot at each other.  Eventually we will go out with them, and shot at them, but Katie has to learn how to wink (aim) and we need more guns.  Our targets had various faces drawn on them....Katie suggested a cheerleader.  I drew George W, and I shot that fucker in the face, bitch.  Right in the kisser.  No more smirks for you, dubya!

So what did you do this weekend?

  • Bunny Breakfast!

I came home for the first weekend of Spring Break and woke up to a fabulous breakfast with my parents.  We had scambled eggs, Easter grits, bunny biscuits, and of course, a few mimosas:

I took a picture of my dad with a biscuit, which he made -isn't he great?- but I don't know what happened to it.  Bummer.

I hope your weekend was as good as mine, but seeing as how your were not at the table having this wonderful breakfast with us, I know that it was not, and I am sad for you.  So so sad.  I mean, look at the bunny biscuits.  Don't you wish you could have had one of those?  But you didn't, did you?  Well, better luck next year, kid.  Of course, last Easter I was in Amseterdam, so I can't go all out and say this was the best Easter, but just remember to check with me next time you make Easter plans, because mine seem to have a habit of rocking.
