  • Here are some from London...I'm trying to not overwhelm your system, but I wanna share my pictures Amsterdamnit!  I left my camera at Kris' house on the day I took a tour of London, so I only have a few pics from another day of walking around.

This, of course, is Big Ben.  All together now "Ben is the bell, NOT the clock!"

Some sound minded (anti-war) folks across the pond

According to Kris, Abe didn't want his statue on foreign land, so the British Government ceded the land immediately below this statue to the USA.

This is in Canterbury, which was the cutest town.  Warning: cobblestones are not fun for tired feet!

    The Wife of Bath

The arch leading to the Cathedral

The Starbucks next to the arch to the Cathedral

The Cathedral is really big, so here are some shots of different parts.  Use your imagination to put it all together.

Here are some photos from inside the Cathedral

This sculpture marks the spot where Beckett was killed

This baptismal font was hidden during the Reformation.  There are plaques on the wall behind it marking the remains of various important people.  These are prevalent throughout the Cathedral, and unfortunately, my batteries were dying and I could not get pictures of most of them.  However, they dated from the 1500s and many were in Latin and Old English.  Some were illegible due to age, so there may have been older markers.

These are some stained glass windows in the nave of the Cathedral; the small ones at the top are from the 1400s.

This marks the remains of a Henry P_____ who died 10.27.1652

There were many of the floor stones throughout the Cathedral, most of them were worn down due to foot traffic.

There were, of course, many Archbishops, a King, a Prince, and various other dignitaries buried in the Crypts, where photos were not allowed.

There were also some columns from the original church at Canterbury that dated from 670.  That's three digits, folks.  I was in awe the entire time.
